"Generellt är flickor svårare" : - En studie om skolans upplevelser av barn med ADHD i Kalmar kommun.

This paper studies the schoolstaffs experiences of children with ADHD within the region of Kalmar kommun. The aim is to describe and analyze these experiences from a gender perspective. The study is of a qualitative art and is based on six interviews whith school principals. The theory that is used to analyze the six interviews is the theory of socialconstructivism. The study shows that boys and girls generally is treated differently by the schoolstaff.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how gender is constructed in presentence reports written by social workers? as mandated by 11§ LUL. Young offenders are often assigned normative masculine or feminine attributes by personnel at treatment centers, girls are considered emotional and in need of support while boys are considered disorderly and in need of structure. Young female delinquents are victimized which affects their culpability; they are less likely to be held responsible for the crimes they committed. Young male delinquents are viewed as aggressive and in control; they are more likely to be held accountable for their criminal actions.

Varför slutar barn att sjunga? : En studie om barns sångutveckling ur ett genusperspektiv

The study deals with three questions concerning attitudes to singing: When does the joy of singing with girls and boys change to a feeling of ?I can not sing?? What is it that affects them? Are there any differences between girls and boys attitudes to singing?A questionnaire with 12 questions about singing was distributed to 5 girls and 5 boys in (Swedish) grade 1, 4 and 8. It turned out that the girls in the study ?play with singing? together or by themselves, while the boys are satisfied singing in school on music lessons. Because of this, the singing interest for boys gets lower and lower between 10 and 14 years.

I skuggan av pojkarna : En kvalitativ studie om flickor med ADHD

Purpose: The purpose of this qualitative study was to illuminate and analyze what girls with ADHD say they experienced during their school time. The study will also answer the questions of issues; how did the girls say they were treated by their teachers and classmates and which pedagogical experiences can we learn from their statements?Method: In order to investigate this, six semi structured interviews were carried out. I decided not to interview girls in their school age, but women with ADHD who has already graduated, since I believe it can be very sensitive for young girls to talk about the subject and they are not able to give the overall perspective on their school time that I was looking for.Result: The results of the interviews shows that all of the women felt misunderstood during their childhood and they all had bad experiences from school.Conclusion: One of the conclusions of this study is that there are not sufficiently knowledge about girls with ADHD and many of them are not diagnosed until they are grown up which leads to that the girls does not get the support they need in school..

"Det är bra som det är" : - En studie om hur ungdomar konstruerar kön på en fritidsgård.

The aim of this study was; from a group of boys and girls description and interpretation of interaction with other young people, personnel and the environment of the youth centre illuminate how the social gender are constructed and maintained at the youth centre. In this study we have tried to analyse the phenomena from an intersectionalistic perspective. Except gender, the analytic category social class have been tried to capture. Our theoretical standing point is social constructivism. Institutionalized structures in our society are constructed by humans, gender is not only a biological construction it is also a man created construction.

Jämställdhet i förskolans verksamhet : En observationsstudie om hur pedagoger förhåller sig till flickor och pojkar ur ett könsperspektiv

The purpose of this study is to look into if the pedagogues who participate in this study treat children differently depending on their sex. The purpose was then divided in three research questions which were: Attention: How much verbal attention and eye contact with the pedagogue are girls/boys getting? Choice of words: Are there any differences in the choice of words the pedagogues are using against girls/boys? Address: How does the pedagogue address girls/boys, are there any differences? The tone of the voice and how the pedagogue address girls/boys belongs in this category. The study was observed with video camera in four different circle time situations, two circle times for each preschool. Data were then analyzed with an observation schedule based on the three research questions.

Kvinnors upplevelser av att leva med ADHD: En kvalitativ studie

Another aim was to analyze how the women think itwould have influenced them, if they had been diagnosed during childhood.In the study, with a qualitatively approach, three women diagnosed with ADHD were interviewed. The data was analyzed with qualitative content analysis.The result shows that the women perceived affirmation when they received their diagnosis but they also pointed out that they had wished to receive the diagnose during childhood to avoid unnecessary suffering.The conclusion of the study was that it is essential to, as early as possible, follow up deviances in children and adolescents. Therefore, there is a need for more knowledge of how symptoms of ADHD in girls present itself.It is reasonable to believe that if healthcare and school have increased knowledge of symptoms of ADHD in girls, then these girls would be diagnosed at an earlier time.Keywords:ADHD,women,girls,treatment,self?esteem.

Ungdomars upplevelser av sina konsumtionsmöjligheter : En enkätundersökning i en sjundeklass

The object of this essay was about youth's experiences of their possibility of consumption. We also wanted to analyze if their possibility of consumption had a connection with their experience of happiness. Another part of the object was to see if there where any differences between girls and boys concerning the questions above. One of the issues we had was if the youth's money was enough for their needs of consumption. The method we used were a questionnaire, which we asked a class of 22 pupils to fill in.

Many of these pupils are in need of special support and it is therefore important that special teachers and special educational needs coordinators (SENCO:s) have the competence required to meet their needs. The purpose of this essay was to study special teacher and SENCO students? knowledge and attitudes regarding ADHD. This was done using a norm critical and gender perspective.

According to international and national literacy studies (PISA, PIRLS) Swedish boys are inferior to Swedish girls when it comes to reading. There can be numerous reasons to that statement. One is that Swedish teachers require more knowledge about communication as an important component in literacy. In spite of this shortcoming, Swedish girls manage to gain sufficient literacy. Why is that? The aim of this survey was to examine if there were any differences between girls and boys regarding communication skills when they begin in school.The main questions taken in account were:Which differences and/or similarities in communication skills are discernible between boys and girls this particular preschool?How do boys and girls communicate with each other in different room contexts on this particular preschool?           To be able to answer the questions, I adopted observations and audio recordings from children aged five.

Genus och funktionshinder. En journalstudie gjord på barn- och ungdomshabiliteringen

The purpose of this qualitative study is to investigate how the welfare officer who works in the child and youth- habilitation is documenting in boys and girls journals. We also want to see if there are any differences or similarities in the journals on the basis of a gender perspective? The investigation is made from ten journals, five boys and five girls in the ages from 13 -18 years. The analysis which proceeds from prior research made on this area and from a number of gender theories and gender perspectives is based on a hermeneutic nature. The results show that the welfare officers make more documentation about the boys´ school situation than the girls´.
